New Initiative to Empower African Talent

AltSchool Africa, a leading skill-to-market platform, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with ayoba, Africa's premier all-in-one super app. This collaboration aims to provide free software engineering training to aspiring talent in Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa.

Revolutionizing Communication and Entertainment

Ayoba stands out as a revolutionary super app in Africa, boasting over 35 million active users. The platform offers an extensive suite of communication tools and a rich content offering, including music, channels, games, and various services. Its innovative approach has set it apart in the African digital landscape.

Transforming Lives Through Education

This partnership is a significant step in addressing the financial barriers that prevent many young Africans from pursuing careers in software engineering. Eligible applicants will have the opportunity to choose from three specialized training tracks: FrontEnd Engineering, BackEnd Engineering, or Cloud Engineering. This initiative aligns with AltSchool Africa's mission to provide world-class learning programs and career development services across the continent.

Tomilola Tometi, Sales & Partnerships Executive at AltSchool Africa, highlighted the significance of the collaboration: “This partnership marks a pivotal milestone in our mission to bring world-class learning programs to millions of Africans. We are committed to equipping them with the skills necessary for success in the tech industry.”

Shared Goals and Innovative Solutions

Tometi praised ayoba for its groundbreaking platform and its alignment with AltSchool Africa’s vision of creating digital solutions to address challenges in education and employment. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to driving positive change through technology and education.

Shiela Yabo, Head of Ecosystem Development at ayoba, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are excited to partner with AltSchool Africa to empower young Africans with essential technical skills. This initiative perfectly aligns with ayoba’s mission to bridge the digital divide and support Africa’s digital future through development programs and key partnerships within the startup ecosystem.”

AltSchool Africa's Growing Impact

Earlier this year, AltSchool Africa received full accreditation from the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC). This recognition underscores the quality and effectiveness of its curricula, systems, and processes.

To date, AltSchool Africa has facilitated over 6 million hours of training for more than 60,000 learners from over 100 countries across its five specialized schools: Engineering, Product, Data, Business, and Creative Economy. As of June 2024, nearly 2,000 learners have graduated from its code and co-code diploma programs, with many successfully launching careers as paid interns or full-time employees at startups and established companies globally.
