Turning Passions into Livelihood: Unlocking Opportunities for Young Creators

HustleSasa, Kenya's leading mobile app for creators, is excited to announce the opening of applications for its upskilling and digitization incubator. In collaboration with The Alchemist, this 9-month program aims to equip young creators across the country with the necessary tools, resources, networks, and knowledge to monetize their passions.

Upskilling and Learning Masterclasses and Expert Facilitation

Participants will embark on a transformative journey, starting with 7 weeks of immersive business and marketing masterclasses facilitated by industry experts. Renowned organizations such as Artists Rights Africa, Olivia Ambani, and Tetu Shani will cover a diverse range of topics including financial literacy, budgeting, community building, integrated marketing communications, the future of art (cryptocurrency, NFTs, etc.), and mental health.

Digital Transformation Onboarding onto the HustleSasa Mobile App

Following the learning sessions, participants will spend 2 weeks getting onboarded onto the HustleSasa mobile app. The program's CRM Team will provide guidance on leveraging the platform's features to effectively manage their businesses online. Additionally, creators will receive support in graphic design and product photography to develop professional websites for seamless selling to their audiences.

Unprecedented Scale and Diversity Expanding Opportunities for Creatives

This ambitious project stands out for several reasons. It aims to empower a total of 1,000 upskilled creatives across Kenya by December 2023, divided into four cohorts of 250 participants each. Unlike other programs with smaller cohort sizes, this incubator welcomes various creator types, including musicians, dancers, event organizers, writers, chefs, beauty and skincare specialists, photographers, and more.

Sustainable Community and Future Growth Continued Support and Collaboration

As all participants will be part of the HustleSasa mobile app, the program ensures ongoing support even after its conclusion. The platform regularly organizes community initiatives such as event financing and networking gatherings, fostering a strong network for app users. The Alchemist, known for its contribution to the local creative scene, will serve as the community hub for the incubator, hosting in-person activities, and culminating in a grand showcase in December 2023, featuring 100 participant brands and a live concert with beloved local musical acts.

Empowering Dreams and Realizing Potential HustleSasa's Commitment to Creators

Peng Chen, Co-Founder and CEO of HustleSasa, expresses the company's dedication to supporting creatives and their dreams. Running this program enables them to continue walking alongside young people in the arts and entertainment space as they transform their aspirations into sustainable realities.

Grant Support and Collaborative Efforts Ignite Culture: ACP-EU Culture Programme

This project receives vital support from the Ignite Culture: ACP-EU Culture Programme (Eastern Africa). Implemented by HEVA in partnership with the British Council Kenya and with the financial contribution of the European Union, along with support from the Organisation of ACP States, the incubator aligns with the global ACP-EU Culture Programme's mission.

The HustleSasa upskilling and digitization incubator presents a remarkable opportunity for young creators in Kenya to thrive in their artistic pursuits. By providing valuable knowledge, digital tools, and a vibrant community, this program unlocks a world of possibilities for turning passions into livelihoods.
