Introduction

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has appointed Roland Yameogo as the new Country Manager for Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, and Zimbabwe, effective August 16, 2024.

Overseeing Operations and Strategic Initiatives

In his new position, Yameogo will oversee IFC's activities across these four countries, managing a multidisciplinary team comprising investment, advisory services, and support staff based in Luanda, Angola. He will collaborate with both public and private sector partners to amplify IFC's efforts in driving economic growth and enhancing shared prosperity throughout the region. His key responsibilities include developing and implementing operational country strategies, driving the formulation of Country Partnership Frameworks, and expanding IFC's business across multiple sectors.

Strategic Vision

Experience and Expertise

Roland Yameogo has been with IFC for 18 years, holding various positions that have equipped him with extensive experience. Before his current appointment, he served as IFC Resident Representative in Guinea for three years. Prior to that, he was a Senior Investment Officer in IFC's Infrastructure and Natural Resources Department, where he led several equity and debt transactions in the mining sectors of small, fragile, and conflict-affected countries. A native of Burkina Faso, Yameogo holds an MBA from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
