"We have been inspired by the level of talent and creativity from all of the applicants, and we congratulate the 10 deserving finalists who will showcase their innovative solutions at Demo Day later this month," Akamanzi said. She emphasized NBA Africa’s commitment to supporting the growth of startups on the continent, noting that the four prize-winning companies will help elevate the sport and creative industries in Africa for years to come.
Supporting Africa’s Next Generation of Tech Entrepreneurs
Operated by ALX Ventures, the "Triple-Double: NBA Africa Startup Accelerator" was open to early-stage startups in Africa that are developing solutions in event management, ticketing, youth development, AI, and digital marketing. This initiative aims to strengthen Africa’s tech ecosystem by providing startups with access to mentorship, capital, and opportunities to drive growth in the sports and creative industries.
The Road Ahead: Demo Day and Beyond
At the upcoming Demo Day, the selected startups will pitch their products to a panel of international industry leaders. The panel will then select four winning companies, which will receive financial support, mentorship, and the opportunity to participate in workshops and development programs facilitated by NBA Africa and its partners.
These efforts underscore NBA Africa’s dedication to empowering African entrepreneurs and fostering innovation that will have a lasting impact on the continent’s economy and cultural landscape.
