Introduction

Corporate mobility startup, Treepz, has set a new benchmark in African transportation by becoming the first African company to successfully complete a cross-border rental trip between Nigeria and the Benin Republic.

The historic journey, conducted from August 7 to August 11, 2024, saw 96 passengers transported from Lagos, Nigeria, to Cotonou, Benin Republic, and back. This achievement not only expands Treepz's service offerings but also highlights its capability to meet the growing demand for reliable transportation solutions across Africa.

Breaking New Ground in African Mobility

Onyeka Akumah, Founder and CEO of Treepz, expressed pride in this significant milestone, noting that it represents a major achievement for the organization. "At Treepz, we are driven by the daily opportunity to innovate and lead in building effective transportation systems across Africa. This accomplishment sets the pace for similar companies to learn from our journey and improve mobility for Africans."

Since its inception five years ago, Treepz has consistently led the way in delivering innovative mobility solutions across the continent. Through its advanced rental marketplace, the company has successfully transported over 5 million passengers within cities in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda. This cross-border trip marks a new chapter in Treepz's journey, reinforcing its leadership in the African mobility industry.

Operational Excellence and Innovation

Johnny Enagwalor, COO and Co-Founder of Treepz, emphasized that completing this cross-border trip is not just a testament to the company's operational excellence but also a bold step toward redefining mobility across Africa. "This achievement opens new doors for further innovation, enabling us to create pathways for cross-border travel that were previously unavailable."

The trip, covering nearly 1,400 kilometers, was executed with a fleet of well-maintained vehicles, including two coaster buses and three Toyota Hiace buses. Each vehicle was operated by professional drivers, with full insurance coverage, real-time tracking, and efficient communication throughout the journey, ensuring a seamless and safe travel experience for all passengers.

Passenger Experiences Highlight Success
