The event, which drew over 100 media representatives and fleet companies from nine different markets, highlighted Kia's commitment to advancing sustainable mobility solutions across the region. This launch marks a significant step forward in Kia's journey toward a greener future.

A Strategic Market for Electric Vehicles

The choice of Morocco as the launch venue underscores the country’s growing potential as a key market for electric vehicles (EVs) in Africa. Morocco’s commitment to sustainable transportation solutions was evident at the event, where attendees were offered an exclusive test drive experience of the Kia EV5. This mid-size SUV combines cutting-edge technology with eco-friendly design, signaling a new direction for Kia's electric vehicle lineup.

Key Features: Performance Meets Sustainability

The Kia EV5 is built on three core pillars: robust SUV design, zero emissions, and spacious interiors. With a powerful 310 hp engine, the EV5 offers an impressive range of up to 550 km on a single charge. Its fast-charging capability allows for an 80% charge in just 27 minutes, making it one of the most efficient electric SUVs on the market. The vehicle's sturdy, boxy design stands out in its class, offering a unique blend of practicality and style.

Advanced Technology and Comfort

Inside, the Kia EV5 is designed with comfort and convenience in mind. The spacious interior features relaxation seats with massage functions, a bench-type front seat, a cooled and warmed trunk box, and a versatile rear table. The vehicle is also equipped with advanced technology, including a comprehensive ADAS package, a double 12.3-inch panoramic display, and wide mood lighting that creates a futuristic and comfortable cabin environment.

Kia’s Commitment to a Greener Future

SooHang Chang, President of Regional HQ, Middle East & Africa, Kia, emphasized the significance of the EV5 launch as a testament to Kia's dedication to becoming a Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider. “This launch signifies a major step towards a greener future, not just for Morocco but for all nine markets represented here today,” Chang stated.

Innovative Design and Eco-Friendly Materials

The Kia EV5 is not only about performance but also about sustainability. The vehicle incorporates eco-friendly materials such as Bio PP/PU and recycled PET, along with BTX-free paint. Jae Yeoun Park, Senior Exterior Designer at Kia, highlighted the EV5's robust and boxy design, which is complemented by its spacious interior, elevating compact SUV standards in the MEA region.
