Introduction
MENA’s leading financial technology company, Valu, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with logistics company ShipBlu and payment processing provider PayTabs Egypt. Together, they aim to transform payment methods for e-commerce deliveries, enabling a seamless, cashless shopping experience for consumers in Egypt.
A Shift Towards Cashless E-Commerce
This collaboration empowers Valu customers to use their available credit limit to pay for online orders delivered by ShipBlu via the myBlu app, even if the merchant isn’t part of the Valu network. PayTabs Egypt is facilitating secure payment processing, allowing customers to enjoy a smooth Payment-on-Delivery (PoD) experience, a significant leap from traditional Cash-on-Delivery (CoD) models.
The initiative highlights the growing shift towards a cashless society in Egypt, where consumers are increasingly opting for digital payment methods. Through the myBlu app, shoppers can pay for their deliveries using a range of methods, including credit and debit cards, QR codes, eWallets, and now, Valu’s flexible financing services.
Enhancing Convenience for E-Commerce Consumers
Valu’s Senior Director of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, Motaz Lotfy, emphasized the importance of this partnership. “Our collaboration with ShipBlu and PayTabs Egypt is a milestone in offering more flexible and accessible financing options to our customers. By bridging the gap between cash-based and digital payment systems, we are elevating the Payment-on-Delivery model to ensure a smoother experience for merchants and consumers alike,” said Lotfy. He also underscored Valu’s commitment to fostering Egypt’s transition towards a digital economy through innovative partnerships.
Transforming the Delivery Experience
ShipBlu’s Co-Founder and CEO, Ali Nasser, expressed enthusiasm for the shift from CoD to PoD. “As Egypt moves towards a cashless economy, the traditional Cash-on-Delivery model is evolving into Payment-on-Delivery. Our myBlu app is at the forefront of this transformation, and partnering with Valu and PayTabs Egypt strengthens our ability to provide a wide range of payment options at the doorstep,” said Nasser. By integrating six different payment methods, ShipBlu aims to enhance convenience for online shoppers and support businesses in expanding their customer base.
Secure and Flexible Payment Solutions
Haytham Morsy, Commercial Country Manager of PayTabs Egypt, shared his excitement about the partnership, noting, “We are thrilled to work alongside Valu and ShipBlu to provide a secure and efficient payment gateway for Egyptian e-commerce customers. This collaboration will further empower consumers by offering Valu’s innovative payment solutions through ShipBlu’s myBlu app, streamlining the shopping and payment process.”
Supporting a Digital and Cashless Economy
The launch of ShipBlu’s myBlu app earlier this year already marked a significant advancement in the e-commerce landscape. By offering multiple payment methods, the app serves as a comprehensive payment gateway for merchants without their own systems. This partnership not only enhances the user experience but also strengthens Egypt’s journey towards a more digital and cashless economy.
Through this strategic collaboration, Valu, ShipBlu, and PayTabs Egypt are setting a new standard for e-commerce payments, making online shopping more convenient and accessible for consumers across Egypt.
