Introduction

Egyptian fintech startup Bokra has joined forces with the Canadian International College (CIC) to establish a fund aimed at empowering Egyptian students with entrepreneurial ambitions. The partnership will see the launch of a EGP 10 million (US$207,000) fund, supporting students in their journey to become future business leaders and innovators.

Bokra’s Inclusive Financial Vision

Founded in 2023, Bokra is driven by a mission to make finance more inclusive, transparent, and socially responsible. The company has developed a unique app that provides tailored financial and investment advice, built on asset-backed securities. This approach offers users personalized financial planning across various asset classes, ensuring a balanced approach to wealth management.

Early Success and Funding Milestones

Earlier this year, Bokra raised a US$4.6 million pre-seed round, marking its entry into the fintech scene with considerable backing. Building on this momentum, the startup has now turned its focus to fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs, launching its own fund to support changemakers studying at CIC.

Empowering Students Through Bokra Academy

In tandem with the launch of the fund, Bokra has introduced the Bokra Academy, a new initiative designed to provide students with essential entrepreneurial guidance. By bridging the gap between academia and industry, Bokra Academy seeks to equip young innovators with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to turn their ideas into successful ventures.

A Vision for Egypt’s Startup Ecosystem

Bokra’s founder and CEO, Ayman El-Sawy, highlights the company’s clear mission: to transform financial aspirations into reality. “Our partnership with CIC reflects our commitment to fostering a more mature and dynamic startup ecosystem,” El-Sawy explains. He emphasizes that the fund is not just about financial support but also about providing the tools and guidance students need to thrive in the competitive world of entrepreneurship.

Building a New Era of Innovation

With the launch of the EGP 10 million fund, Bokra is paving the way for a new era of innovation in Egypt. According to El-Sawy, the fund is about more than just helping students launch businesses—it’s about creating a future where entrepreneurship is accessible to all. “We are building a future where entrepreneurship is not just a dream but a tangible reality for all who dare to innovate and create change,” he said.
