The 2024 Orange Corners Designs Programme, a new initiative by the CDI supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, is now accepting applications. This programme seeks visionary entrepreneurs whose businesses are poised for growth and dedicated to making a positive impact in under-resourced communities. The first Cape Town cohort will commence in July 2024.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Youth and Women Leadership: Preference for ventures led by youth and women entrepreneurs in under-resourced communities.
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Must be a registered business with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) and compliant with tax regulations.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrable history and traction, market research, or relevant skills.
  • Viable Business Idea: Evidence of market research.
  • Commitment: Demonstrated dedication to overcoming entrepreneurial challenges with resilience.
  • Clear Vision and Mission: Articulation of a vision for social change and community empowerment.
  • Innovation: Offering innovative products, services, or opportunities that address community needs.
  • Operational Readiness: Must provide basic business information including operational and financial details.
  • Availability: Willingness to take time off from the business to participate in the programme.
