Summit Focus: Fostering Collaboration and Unlocking Investment

The HealthTech Hub Africa Investor Summit is a key event designed to bring together startups, investors, and leaders in the healthtech industry to foster collaboration and secure funding for groundbreaking solutions. This two-day gathering serves as a platform for innovative African startups to pitch their solutions to potential investors while facilitating critical networking opportunities.

In a significant move, this year's summit will join forces with the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and will be featured at the Africa HealthTech Summit 2024, greatly expanding its reach and influence within the sector.

A Legacy of Supporting Investment-Ready Startups

For the past two years, the HealthTech Hub Africa Investor Summit has been held at Norrsken House in Kigali. The summit acts as a pivotal graduation event for startups that have completed HealthTech Hub Africa’s accelerator program. These startups, having received investment-readiness support throughout the program, will have the opportunity to showcase their cutting-edge innovations and pitch to a broad range of investors.

The primary goals of the 2024 Investor Summit include:

  • Showcasing the 2024 cohort of HealthTech Hub Africa startups
  • Facilitating networking between entrepreneurs and investors
  • Sharing the progress made on the policy blueprint for advancing healthtech in Africa
  • Introducing the Standards and Interoperability Lab to a wider audience

Target Audience: Investors, Policymakers, and Development Partners

The summit will attract a diverse audience, including venture capitalists, private equity firms, policymakers, development partners, and government champions. These stakeholders will play a crucial role in advancing health technology solutions and driving investments in the sector. The event will serve as a unique opportunity for startups and investors to connect and explore new avenues for growth and collaboration.

Strategic Partnerships to Drive Event Success

The 2024 Investor Summit is being supported by HealthTech Hub Africa’s anchor partners, including the Novartis Foundation, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (the Global Fund), and The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation. Additional support is being provided by organizations such as JHPIEGO, Villgro Africa, PATH, and Grand Challenges Canada. Africa CDC, through the Africa HealthTech Summit platform, serves as a critical strategic partner, helping to shape the event's vision and implementation.
