In a groundbreaking collaboration between Digify Africa, Meta, and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation (MSDF), the innovative Digify PRO Online Application Drive for 2024 has been launched. This initiative aims to empower South African youth aged 18-35 through the transformative power of digital entrepreneurship.
Digify PRO Online Programme
Digify PRO Online is a revolutionary and free programme designed to provide participants with a comprehensive digital entrepreneurship experience, focusing on the dynamic realm of digital marketing. Led by Blessing Letsoara, Digify PRO Project Manager at Digify Africa, the programme seeks to equip young individuals with the necessary skills and expertise to thrive in the digital landscape.
Progressive Learning Journey
The 2024 iteration of the Digify PRO Online programme introduces a newly re-imagined roll-out plan, offering participants a progressive journey divided into three levels: foundational, intermediate, and advanced. Each level is meticulously crafted to provide practical knowledge and hands-on experience, laying the foundation for sustainable digital careers.
Transition from Foundation to Intermediate Level
Letsoara emphasizes the significance of the transition from the foundational to the intermediate level, highlighting the specific skills and knowledge acquired at each stage. He explains, “The difference with the Foundation and Intermediate is the learning about the digital world, economy and digital skills needed to understand before learning about other opportunities in that space.”
Exploring Economic Pathways
The Intermediate level delves deeper into various economic pathways within the digital industry, offering insights into digital strategy, social media management, community management, and other career opportunities. Letsoara elaborates, “The Intermediate then starts you on a path where you would get a better look into some economic pathways which are available."
Leveraging Emerging Technologies
Digify Africa remains at the forefront of innovation, utilizing emerging technologies such as Learning Experience Platforms, AI, and WhatsApp chatbots to provide seamless access to learning opportunities. This integration of technology ensures that participants receive a dynamic and interactive learning experience.
Collaboration for Impact
A key driver of the programme's success is collaboration with civil society organizations sharing a common purpose. Strategic partnerships with digital innovation hubs and organizations like Rise Africa Care Foundation, Bokamoso Youth Centre, Vukani Solutions, and Botshabelo facilitate access to the programme for youth in underserved communities.
