A Call for Innovation

Enabel, HAUS, and ESTDEV join forces to launch a groundbreaking initiative aimed at catalyzing data-driven digital social innovations across Africa. With two distinct Calls for Proposals, the initiative seeks to identify and scale up innovative solutions that address pressing societal challenges through the power of data.

Empowering Social Impact

The first Call targets not-for-profit and public sector entities, inviting proposals for data-driven digital social innovations. With grants of up to EUR 300,000 available per project, the Call aims to support initiatives led by public institutions, academia, Civil Society Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, and Social Enterprises.

Fostering Private Sector Engagement

In the second Call, the focus shifts to the private sector, offering tailored training and personalized mentoring for data-driven digital social innovations. Through a partnership and investment brokering facility, along with capacity building initiatives, this Call aims to empower private sector actors to drive impactful change in their communities.

Addressing Transboundary Challenges

Recognizing that many societal challenges transcend national borders, the Calls prioritize innovations that address issues such as climate change, digital health, migration, natural resource management, agriculture, and digital inclusion. This holistic approach underscores the importance of collaborative solutions in tackling complex regional and continental issues.

Amplifying Impact Across Africa

The Calls target innovators and changemakers across a diverse range of African countries, including Benin, Botswana, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mauritania, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia. By fostering innovation on a pan-African scale, the initiative aims to drive meaningful change across the continent.
