Introduction

Africa Tech Summit Nairobi, a prominent event in the African tech ecosystem, is set to showcase 10 dynamic startups at its upcoming edition on February 14-15. This annual Investment Showcase is a focal point of the summit, providing a platform for innovative ventures to present their solutions to an esteemed audience of industry experts, investors, and fellow innovators.

Connecting Tech Leaders

As the sixth edition of the Africa Tech Summit, powered by Raenest, approaches, it promises to bring together over 1,000 African and international leaders from various sectors of the tech ecosystem. This event serves as a nexus for tech leaders, mobile network operators (MNOs), banks, investors, entrepreneurs, governments, trade bodies, and media to drive investments and foster business collaborations in African tech.

The Selected Pioneers

Out of more than 250 entries received from diverse African countries, 10 startups have been chosen to participate in the Investment Showcase. These ventures, spanning fintech, agri-tech, e-commerce, Web3, and climate-tech, are seeking funding ranging from US$500,000 to US$15 million.

Spotlight on Kenyan Ingenuity

Four of the selected startups hail from Kenya:

1. Node Bio: Harnessing cutting-edge plant science to develop crop treatments combating climate change's adverse effects.

2. Tausi App: A beauty tech company leveraging technology to connect beauticians with potential customers.

3. Peercarbon: A climate fintech startup empowering African SMEs with granular emissions data and sustainable finance technology.

4. URBANET: Promoting international dialogue on development activities worldwide.

Nigeria's Tech Trailblazers

Four startups from Nigeria have also secured a spot:

1. Bingtellar: Building payment infrastructure for global citizens, including freelancers, remote workers, contractors, and businesses.

2. Dukka: Digitizing payments and bookkeeping solutions to aid small businesses.

3. Feegor: A B2B e-commerce platform connecting SMEs to manufacturers and major wholesalers.

4. Regxta: Making financial services accessible to underserved communities and micro-businesses in rural and peri-urban areas.

Diverse Innovations

The remaining two startups represent diverse African landscapes:

1. Valu (Egypt): MENA’s leading Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) lifestyle-enabling fintech platform.

2. FutureLink Technologies (Uganda): A digital marketplace simplifying financial access for individuals and facilitating payments for financial cooperatives.
